Privacy Policy
1Information We Collect
When you use Swappables, we collect the following information:
- Account information — your name, email address, username, date of birth, country, and an optional profile picture.
- Location data — if you allow location access, your device’s location (latitude and longitude) and the city, state and zip code we look up from it. You can also enter your city and zip code yourself. We use this to find nearby collectors and public meeting spots.
- Collection data — photos and details of the cards, comics, collectibles and graded slabs you add, including slab certificate numbers, and the cards on your wish list.
- Trade activity — trade requests, messages, photo requests, meeting places and times, handoff codes, and your trade history.
- Support and disputes — feedback, support tickets, location change requests, and details and documents you submit for a graded slab dispute. Dispute documents are stored privately.
- Preferences — your language, display settings, search radius, favorite Pokémon, notification setting, and your answers to camera and location permission prompts.
- Activity logs — records of key actions in the app, such as creating a listing, accepting a trade, signing out, or an error, together with your email address and user ID. Only Swappables administrators can see these logs.
2How We Use Your Information
- Identify your cards, estimate their condition, and show market prices.
- Find collectors and public meeting spots near you, and let you know when a trade offer is not local.
- Run trades, messages, meetups and handoff confirmations between users.
- Send in-app notifications and emails about your account and trades, such as password resets and account deletion updates.
- Review location change requests, support tickets and slab disputes.
- Keep the app secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
3Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these cases:
- With other users — your username and the cards and photos you list for trade are visible to other Swappables users. When you have cards listed, other users can see your city, state and an approximate distance, rounded to the nearest 5 miles. Other users never see your exact location. Collectors who propose a trade to you can see your wish list, and the other person in a trade can see that trade’s details and your messages.
- Base44 — our app platform. Base44 hosts the app and its database, stores uploaded photos and files, handles sign-in, sends our emails, and powers our AI card cataloging.
- Ximilar — receives your card photos to identify cards, estimate condition and look up prices.
- Google Maps Platform — receives your device location or zip code to look up your city and find nearby meeting places, and to show maps.
- Card reference sources — we look up card set information from the Pokémon TCG API and PokeAPI. We do not send them any personal information.
- Legal requirements — if required by law or court order, or to protect the safety of our users.
4Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored with Base44. All data sent between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Private files, such as slab dispute documents, are shared only through links that expire. Access rules limit who can read each kind of data: for example, activity logs are visible only to administrators, and other users are never given your exact coordinates.
5Data Retention & Deletion
- Notifications are deleted automatically after 90 days.
- Trades with no activity are closed automatically.
- You can request account deletion from your Profile. Our team reviews each request, and your account stays active until it is approved. You will get an in-app notification and an email with the decision.
- When a deletion is approved, we remove your cards, slabs, trades, messages, photo requests, notifications, location change requests, feedback and support tickets. Sign out to finish closing your account.
- We keep a record of the deletion request and our activity logs for security and record-keeping.
6Your Choices
- Profile — you can view and update your profile information in the app.
- Location — you can deny location access, or turn it off later in Profile > Location. Turning it off deletes your saved coordinates, and the app uses your zip code for nearby searches instead.
- Notifications — you can turn push notifications on or off in the app and in your device settings.
- Account deletion — you can request deletion at any time, as described in section 5.
7Children’s Privacy
